Pack of six Ni-MH 6.0 V 1000 mAh radio batteries

This six-pack supplies drop-in replacements for Midland two-way radios such as the GXT-300, GXT-310, GXT-740, XT511, XF511 and HH54 series. Each cell delivers 6.0 volts and 1000 mAh in a 53 x 43 x 18 mm steel-cased pack. The Ni-MH chemistry contains no mercury, cadmium or lead.

Capacity and runtime headroom

The 1000 mAh rating supports extended talk time on compatible handhelds, while the low self-discharge design keeps charge during seasonal storage. Rated cycle life reaches 1200 charge-discharge cycles thanks to a mix-protection additive and DBCK steel shell that resists overpressure. Voltage drops off as the pack nears empty, so plan a swap before critical use.

Upgrade path and limits

These batteries replace the original BATT5R, BATT-5R, AVP-7, AVP7 and PBATL/G7 packs without modification. They suit users who want longer run time than lower-capacity Ni-Cd packs and safer chemistry than lithium alternatives. Buyers needing higher voltage, greater capacity or a different connector style will need a different pack format.

Questions about this item

Will these 6.0 V 1000 mAh Ni-MH packs work in my older Midland GXT-300 and GXT-740 radios?

Yes, they are listed as direct replacements for the BATT5R packs used in the GXT-300, GXT-310, GXT-740 and several other Midland models.

How can I confirm the batteries are performing correctly after the first charge?

Each pack should deliver the rated 6.0 V and 1000 mAh capacity; a radio that powers up and holds a full-day transmission cycle indicates the cells are healthy.

What comes in the six-pack and is a charger included?

The box contains six 6.0 V 1000 mAh Ni-MH battery packs measuring 53 x 43 x 18 mm; a charger is not included and must be purchased separately.
