Dual-Band SMA Antenna Pair

This pack includes two flexible SMA-male antennas measuring 7.83 inches each, built with ABS material and a heat-shrink sleeve. They cover VHF from 136-174 MHz and UHF from 400-470 MHz for handheld transceivers and scanners.

Sustained Transmit Performance

Each antenna handles up to 20 watts of continuous power input, matching typical handheld radios rated below that level. The 2.15 dBi gain on VHF and 2.5 dBi gain on UHF maintain stable radiated output during extended conversations without overheating the feed point.

SMA-Male Connector Limits

The SMA-male plug fits radios with SMA-female jacks, including many Yaesu Vertex and TYT models listed by the supplier. Radios using BNC, reverse-SMA or proprietary connectors cannot accept these antennas without an adapter, which is not included.

Questions about this item

Does the 20 W maximum power rating generate noticeable heat during all-day use?

The antenna handles up to 20 W input with no active components, so it produces no measurable heat during continuous operation.

Which radio connector must my handheld already have for these antennas to attach?

Your radio needs an SMA-female jack; the antennas use an SMA-male plug that threads directly onto that port.

Will the 144/430 MHz tuning work with my older VX-6R and MD-UV380 without retuning?

Yes, the dual-band 136–174 MHz and 400–470 MHz coverage matches the factory frequencies of both the VX-6R and MD-UV380.
