Questions about this item

Does the MH-48A6J speaker microphone draw extra power from the radio during long shifts?

The MH-48A6J is a passive speaker microphone that uses the radio's existing microphone and speaker circuits, so it does not add measurable current draw during extended use.

Which connector does the MH-48A6J need on the radio for it to work?

The MH-48A6J uses the standard YAESU multi-pin accessory connector found on the FT-1500, FT-1802, FT-1807, FT-1900, FT-2900, FT-7800, FT-7900, FT-8500 and FT-8900 series mobiles.

Will the MH-48A6J plug into an older YAESU FT-2900R without an adapter?

Yes, the MH-48A6J is tested compatible with the original FT-2900R and the other listed models, so it connects directly without any adapter.
