Outdoor Cord Protection for AWG12-18

This IP44-rated cover shields outdoor electrical connections from water, snow, rain and dirt. It fits cords up to 12-gauge including flat and braided types. The heavy-duty PP and TPE construction protects plugs, sockets and outlets during garden, holiday or tool use. It is water-resistant, not waterproof, and must not be submerged.

Sustained Exposure and Impact Resistance

The double-lock lid and four corner clips keep the enclosure sealed after drops or prolonged outdoor exposure. Clips resist accidental opening when the cover is knocked or pulled. The PP and TPE shell maintains its seal through temperature cycles and weathering without tool-assisted maintenance. It secures connections for landscape lighting, pool pumps and power tools left in place.

IP44 Rating Limits Practical Use

The IP44 rating blocks splashing water and solid particles larger than one millimetre. It does not protect against jets, immersion or standing water. Connections must stay above ground level and away from flood zones. The cover suits temporary outdoor power for string lights or equipment, not permanent buried or underwater installations.

Questions about this item

Does the IP44 rating on this cord cover keep it cool when it sits in direct sun all day?

The IP44 rating only covers protection against water splashes and solid particles; it does not describe thermal performance or heat dissipation.

What gauge extension cords must I already have for this cover to fit?

It accepts cords from 12 to 18 AWG, including flat and braided types.

Will the double-lock lid stay shut on the older 12-gauge cords I already use?

Yes, the top lid and four corner clips are designed to double-lock on cords up to 12 AWG so the cover will not open accidentally.
