Vehicle travel charger base

This compact charger plugs into a vehicle power outlet and powers compatible Motorola two-way radios while they remain in use. It accepts radios with batteries attached or batteries alone, supporting Ni-CD, Ni-MH and Li-ion chemistries. The unit replaces several OEM part numbers including NNTN8525 and RLN6433 series.

LED charging indicator with over-charge protection

A built-in indicator light confirms the radio is connected and charging. Over-charge protection stops current flow once the battery reaches full capacity, helping to preserve battery health during long journeys. The plug-and-play design requires no configuration or software.

Compatible radio models and limits

The charger pocket fits Motorola XPR 6300, 6350, 6380, 6500, 6550, 6580, 7350, 7380, 7550, 7580, APX 900, APX 1000 and APX 4000 series radios. It does not support IMPRES battery management features. Users needing multi-bay charging or desktop power supplies will need a different solution.

Questions about this item

Does the charger pocket accept a battery alone for later replacement?

Yes, the pocket fits either a radio with a battery or a battery alone, so you can swap or charge spares separately.

What limits continuous use while the radio is plugged in?

The charger allows the radio to operate while charging, so the practical limit is the vehicle's power outlet capacity rather than the charger itself.

Does the charger generate noticeable heat or noise during all-day operation?

The unit has no fan or moving parts and uses an LED indicator, so it runs silently with minimal heat during extended use.
