Ushio BTM Halogen Lamp

The Ushio 1000084 BTM halogen lamp delivers 13000 lumens at 3200K colour temperature for stage, studio and television fixtures. It operates at 500 watts on a 120-volt supply and uses a P28s medium prefocus base for precise alignment. Rated life is 100 hours under typical operating conditions.

Upgrade From Lower-Output Halogen

Replaces dimmer halogen lamps that no longer meet the brightness or colour consistency required for professional productions. The jump is worth it when fixtures demand the full 13000-lumen output and stable 3200K output for accurate colour rendering. Not suited for buyers who need longer service intervals or lower heat load in permanent installations.

Sustained Studio Operation

Designed for continuous runs in theatre and broadcast environments where output stability matters more than burst performance. The tungsten filament maintains consistent colour temperature throughout the 100-hour rated life when operated at the specified 120 volts and 500 watts. Not intended for frequent cold-strike cycling or applications requiring instant restrike capability.

Questions about this item

What base type does the Ushio 1000084 use, and will it fit a P28s medium prefocus socket?

It uses a P28s medium prefocus base, designed for exact alignment in stage, studio and television fixtures that accept that socket.

How is the bulb installed, and what handling mistake shortens its 100-hour life?

Insert the prefocus base until it seats firmly; avoid touching the quartz envelope with bare fingers, as skin oils create hot spots that cause early failure.

When the 13000-lumen output drops, what replacement does this 500-watt 120-volt halogen need?

Replace it with another ANSI BTM / JCS120V-500W lamp rated 500 watts, 120 volts, 3200 K and 13000 lumens to maintain the same studio colour balance.
