What this product is

This is a twin-pack of aftermarket PG-240XL black ink cartridges made for Canon PIXMA printers. Each cartridge is filled with specially formulated ink and fitted with a chip that reports remaining levels to the printer. The set is aimed at home or small-office users who print mostly text documents and want a lower-cost alternative to original supplies.

Who it suits and who should look elsewhere

It suits owners of the listed MX, MG and TS series models who need black-only replacements and accept third-party consumables. It is not for printers that take different cartridge numbers, for users who require colour cartridges in the same purchase, or for anyone whose warranty terms prohibit non-OEM ink.

The specification that decides fit

The decisive figure is the PG-240XL cartridge number; the pack only works in printers designed for that exact code. Check your printer model against the supported MX, MG and TS series lists before ordering.

Questions about this item

Does the pack contain only the two black cartridges or do I need to buy colour cartridges separately?

The box includes two PG-240XL black ink cartridges; colour cartridges such as the CLI-241XL are not included and must be purchased separately.

Should I choose the XL version or the standard PG-240 for my MX432 printer?

The PG-240XL is the high-yield version that prints up to 600 pages at 5 % coverage, while the standard PG-240 yields fewer pages; both fit the MX432, so pick XL for lower cost per page.

What does the 600-page yield mean when I print photos on my MG3620?

The 600-page figure is based on 5 % coverage of black text; photo printing uses far more ink, so expect considerably fewer pages from each cartridge.
