Valcom Loud Warble Horn accessory
The Valcom loud warble horn is an external audible signal device designed for PBX or station line integration. It suits installers and technicians who need a standalone alerting unit for business telephone systems. The beige enclosure houses a built-in tone generator and a 5 Watt amplifier with volume control.
Activation voltage limits
The unit activates on a 90 Vac ring signal or an 18 Vac buzzer voltage, so it connects directly to compatible lines without an external power supply. It does not operate on DC voltages or other AC levels, and the fixed input thresholds cannot be adjusted. Installers must verify that the host system provides one of these two exact voltages.
Replaces basic ringers and buzzers
This horn replaces simple mechanical ringers or low-output electronic buzzers when a louder, more distinct warble tone is required in noisy environments. The jump is worthwhile when the existing alert cannot be heard over background noise or when a single device must cover a larger area. It is not suited for installations that require multi-tone programmability, network-addressable signalling, or visual strobe alerts.

Questions about this item
How do I choose between the 90 Vac ring and 18 Vac buzzer activation on this loud warble horn?
The horn responds to either voltage: apply 90 Vac for ring activation or 18 Vac for buzzer activation depending on the PBX or station line you are connecting it to.
What does the 5 Watt amplifier mean for actual sound output in a typical installation?
The built-in 5 Watt amplifier drives the horn to a loud, audible level suitable for paging or alerting in offices, warehouses or similar spaces.
What interface does the horn use to connect to a PBX or station line, and what does it limit in practice?
It connects directly to standard PBX or station lines using the 90 Vac ring or 18 Vac buzzer voltages, so the line voltage determines which activation mode is available.
