Standard-Duty Cotton Canvas Tarp

This green tarp uses 20-mil cotton canvas finished at 7 ft 6 in by 9 ft 6 in with double-stitched seams. Nickel-plated brass grommets spaced 24 in apart accept standard tie-downs. The fabric weighs 10 oz per square yard and resists flame and mildew. It is water resistant but not breathable.

Practical Limits of Cotton Canvas

Cotton canvas absorbs moisture and will gain weight when wet, so drying time must be planned into any schedule. The material is not breathable, which can trap condensation underneath during temperature swings. Flame resistance meets the stated standard but does not make the tarp fireproof. Standard-duty construction is not intended for sustained high-wind or heavy-snow loads.

What to Verify Before Ordering

Confirm the finished dimensions of 7 ft 6 in by 9 ft 6 in suit the coverage area after seams and hems. Check that 0.5 in grommet openings match your rope or bungee hardware. Ensure the green colour meets any site visibility requirements. Note the California Proposition 65 warnings for chemical exposure.

Questions about this item

Should I order the 8 x 10 ft cut size or the 7 ft 6 in x 9 ft 6 in finished size for full coverage?

The cut size is 8 x 10 ft; the finished size after hems is 7 ft 6 in x 9 ft 6 in, so plan for the smaller dimensions when measuring your project.

What does the 20 mil thickness mean for durability on a job site?

At 20 mil the canvas is standard duty, double stitched at the seams, and resists flame and mildew while remaining water resistant.

How far apart are the nickel plated brass grommets spaced?

Grommets are spaced every 24 in along the edges with a .5 in inside diameter for tie down ropes.
