12 x 16 ft Heavy Duty Polyethylene Tarp

This silver and black tarp is built from 10.5 mil polyethylene for demanding outdoor coverage. It serves contractors, farmers and homeowners who need a reliable waterproof barrier for equipment, materials or temporary shelter. The heat sealed seams and rope reinforced edges add strength where stress concentrates.

Aluminium Grommets at 18 in Spacing

Rust resistant aluminium grommets run every 18 inches along the perimeter, giving multiple tie down options for secure fastening. The finished dimensions of 11 ft 4 in by 15 ft 6 in are smaller than the cut size, so plan coverage accordingly. Mildew, tear and UV resistance extend service life in exposed conditions.

5.4 oz/sq yd Fabric Weight for Heavy Duty Use

At this weight the tarp handles sustained wind, rain and sun without tearing, making it suitable for long term site protection or seasonal storage. It is not breathable, so condensation can build underneath sealed items. Buyers needing fire retardant ratings or high visibility colours should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

How often should the aluminum grommets be checked for wear when the tarp is used continuously?

Inspect the aluminum grommets every few weeks for corrosion or elongation, especially at the 18 in spacing points where stress concentrates.

Which limit appears first when the tarp is left in direct sun for weeks?

UV resistance delays degradation, but the 10.5 mil polyethylene will eventually become brittle and lose tear strength before the heat‑sealed seams fail.

How hot does the silver surface get compared to the black side under all‑day sun?

The silver side reflects more radiant heat, keeping the covered area cooler, while the black underside absorbs more heat and can become noticeably warmer to the touch.
