Steel stamp holder for 1/4 inch characters with Rockwell C hardness of 58 to 62
This steel stamp holder accepts individual characters with a 1/4 inch height for marking metal surfaces. The set includes letters A through Z, numbers 0 to 8 with 6 serving as 9, plus ampersand, blank space, dash and slash. It is designed for moderate-duty use in industrial or workshop settings.
The holder and characters are made from steel hardened to a Rockwell C scale of 58 to 62 for maximum surface hardness. This hardness helps the stamps maintain sharp impressions over repeated moderate-duty strikes. A Proposition 65 warning applies because the product contains a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer and reproductive harm.
The stamp holder operates entirely by hand with a hammer, so there are no thermals, noise emissions or electrical power draw to consider. Performance depends on the user's striking force and the workpiece material. Buyers who need powered or automated marking equipment should look elsewhere.

It is rated for surfaces up to Rockwell C 62, so it will mark material hardened to that level without damaging the stamp face.
The holder fits stamps with a 1/4 in shank, matching the standard size for the included character set.
Insert each stamp shank fully into the holder slot until it seats firmly; the common mistake is leaving a gap that causes uneven impressions.
