45° Malleable Iron Elbow

This 1 1/2 inch NPT galvanised fitting joins two female threaded pipes at a forty-five degree angle. It is rated Class 150 for standard pressure service in water, air or oil lines. The malleable iron body resists mechanical shock better than cast alternatives. Installers use it where a gradual direction change reduces flow turbulence.

Class 150 pressure headroom

The Class 150 rating covers typical residential and light commercial pressures at ambient temperature. It handles normal service pressures with margin for pressure spikes from pump starts or water hammer. The rating does not extend to high-pressure steam or process piping above the class limit. Verify system design pressure before installation.

Galvanised coating benefit

The hot-dip galvanised finish protects the iron from corrosion in exposed or damp environments. It eliminates the need for field-applied paint on the fitting body. Thread sealant is still required on the NPT joints to ensure a leak-free seal. The coating adds no measurable flow restriction inside the bore.
