Five Way Test Clip Kit

This kit supplies two double-insulated test leads that terminate in right-angle shrouded banana plugs and five-way clips. The leads measure 40 inches overall and use 18 gauge wire rated for 1000 volts and 8 amps under CAT II conditions. They connect to any multimeter, clamp meter or test instrument that accepts a standard shrouded banana plug. Black and red colour coding identifies polarity at a glance.

Bundled Accessories And Safety

The package includes one pair of leads with the five-way clips already fitted, so no separate clip purchase is required. Double insulation on the wire adds a layer of protection against accidental contact. A manufacturer warranty of 1 year covers defects in materials or workmanship. California Proposition 65 warnings apply because the product contains chemicals known to cause cancer and reproductive harm.

Who This Suits And Who Should Look Elsewhere

Technicians and hobbyists who need a ready-made pair of shrouded-plug leads for general-purpose voltage and current checks will find the kit convenient. Users requiring leads longer than 40 inches, higher current capacity, CAT III or CAT IV ratings, or a different connector style should look at other test-lead options.

Questions about this item

When will the 18-gauge double-insulated wires need replacing?

Inspect the insulation before each use; replace the leads immediately if you see cracks, cuts or exposed copper, otherwise they can remain in service for the 1-year warranty period.

What stops me from using these clips continuously at the 8-amp rating?

The 18-gauge conductors and CAT II 1000 V rating limit sustained current to 8 amps; exceeding that will overheat the wire insulation.

How warm do the clips get during an all-day test session at full load?

At the rated 8 amps the 18-gauge wire runs warm but stays within CAT II limits; keep the clips in free air and avoid bundling to prevent excess heat build-up.
