1-1/2 In Ratcheting Pipe Cutter

This Value Brand pipe cutter handles PVC up to 1 5/8 inches with a ratcheting shear action. The aluminium body measures 7 1/2 inches long and 3 1/2 inches wide for a compact grip. It suits plumbers and DIYers who need clean cuts on soft plastic pipe.

Ratcheting Shear With Aluminium Frame

The ratcheting mechanism multiplies hand force so each squeeze advances the steel blade through the pipe. An aluminium body keeps the tool light while resisting corrosion on wet job sites. No reaming tool is included and the cutter is not tether ready.

Manual Cutting For Soft Pipes

Operation stays quiet because the tool relies on manual leverage rather than a motor. The ratchet action reduces peak hand effort during repetitive cuts on PVC. Power draw and thermals are not applicable for this hand operated cutter.

Questions about this item

What pipe sizes does the 1-1/2 in ratcheting shear cutter handle?

It cuts soft pipes from 1/8 in up to a maximum of 1 5/8 in outside diameter.

How much space does the 7 1/2 in long aluminium body need in a toolbox or work area?

The tool measures 7 1/2 in long, 3 1/2 in wide and 1 in high, fitting in most standard trays.

How do you release the blade after a cut, and what mistake should be avoided?

Squeeze the handles fully until the ratchet clicks, then press the release lever; forcing the handles open before the click can jam the mechanism.
