Red Brass Reducing Tee

This ZORO SELECT reducing tee is a new plumbing fitting made from red brass for residential or commercial pipework. It provides a female NPT branch connection on a 2-inch main run for distributing water, gas or steam.

125 PSI at 400 degrees F

The fitting is rated to 125 PSI across a temperature range of -20 to 400 degrees F, giving headroom for typical hot-water and low-pressure steam lines. It is not suited for systems that exceed this pressure or temperature envelope.

ASTM B584 and ASME B16.15

Construction follows ASTM B584 and ASME B16.15 standards with ANSI B1.20.1 threads, so the brass body and threads resist dezincification and seal reliably. The female NPT ports accept standard pipe nipples without special tools. California Proposition 65 warnings apply.

Questions about this item

Will the 2 in female NPT threads on this reducing tee match the 2 in male NPT fittings already on my copper supply lines?

Yes, the tee is built to ANSI B1.20.1 NPT thread standards, so 2 in male NPT connections will engage correctly.

After installation, how can I confirm the joint is holding the rated 125 PSI without leaks?

Pressurise the system to the working pressure and inspect each threaded joint; no visible seepage means the seal is sound.

Does the box include pipe-thread sealant or Teflon tape for the three NPT connections?

The fitting is supplied alone; thread sealant or tape must be purchased separately.
