8-Inch Snap-On Control Damper

This 8-inch snap-on control damper is designed for round ductwork in HVAC systems. It provides airflow control for residential or light commercial installations. The damper fits directly onto nominal 8-inch diameter ducts.

Upgrades from fixed grilles or manual dampers

Replaces fixed grilles or basic manual dampers when adjustable airflow balancing is required. The jump is worth it when rooms experience uneven heating or cooling and you need to regulate air volume at the branch line. Maximum air velocity is rated at 1200 fpm.

Verify duct diameter and shape before ordering

Confirm the existing duct is round with an 8-inch nominal diameter for proper snap-on fit. Ensure the system operates within the 1200 fpm velocity rating. Check that the installation location allows access for damper adjustment after fitting.

Questions about this item

What duct diameter does the 8 in snap-on control damper fit?

The damper is made for an 8 inch nominal round duct diameter.

How do you install the snap-on control damper without damaging the tabs?

Align the damper with the duct opening and press firmly until the snap-on tabs lock into place; forcing it at an angle can break the high-impact polystyrene tabs.

When should the control damper be inspected or replaced?

Inspect the damper if airflow exceeds 1200 fpm or if the red and blue indicator shows the blade is stuck; replace it when the snap-on tabs no longer hold securely.
