Questions about this item

How do I secure the tarp using the aluminum grommets spaced 36 in apart?

Thread rope or bungee cords through each aluminum grommet along the perimeter, pulling evenly so tension distributes across all points; the common mistake is skipping grommets, which concentrates stress and tears the polyethylene.

What maintenance will the polyethylene tarp need over time?

Rinse off dirt and debris with water, inspect heat-sealed seams and grommet edges for wear, and patch small tears with polyethylene repair tape before they expand.

At what point does UV exposure degrade the 5.1 mil material under constant sun?

The UV-resistant coating slows breakdown, but after extended direct sunlight the polyethylene will become brittle and lose tear resistance, requiring replacement.
