Standard Duty Tarp for General Coverage

This cotton canvas tarp measures 3 ft 6 in by 7 ft 6 in finished size with a 20 mil thickness. It offers water resistance and flame resistance for basic outdoor protection. Brass grommets spaced 24 inches apart provide secure tie-down points. The green cover suits temporary shelter or equipment shielding needs.

Sustained Outdoor Exposure Performance

Double-stitched seams and mildew-resistant treatment help the fabric endure prolonged damp conditions. The 10 oz/sq yd canvas weight resists tearing under wind stress better than lighter sheets. Water resistance prevents saturation during extended rain, though the material is not fully waterproof. Flame-resistant properties add safety near heat sources over long periods.

Cotton Canvas Material Constraints

The breathable cotton canvas allows air movement but does not block all moisture vapour. At 20 mil thickness, the tarp remains flexible in cold weather but lacks the puncture resistance of heavier vinyl alternatives. Brass grommets with a .5 inch inner diameter accept standard rope or bungee cords. California Proposition 65 warnings apply for chemical exposure.

Questions about this item

Does the 20 mil thickness and 10 oz/sq yd fabric weight make the tarp heavy or hot to handle in direct sun?

The cotton canvas weighs 10 oz per square yard at 20 mil thick, so it feels substantial but remains breathable enough to handle without excessive heat buildup.

What rope or tie-down diameter fits the 0.5 in brass grommets spaced 24 in apart?

The 0.5 in inside diameter brass grommets accept standard bungee cords, 3/8 in rope or 1/4 in chain; spacing at 24 in lets you secure every other grommet for lighter loads.

Will the double-stitched seams and flame-resistant canvas hold up against an older steel truck bed with sharp edges?

Double-stitched seams and flame-resistant cotton canvas resist abrasion from steel beds; adding a felt liner or rubber mat prevents the 20 mil fabric from snagging on sharp corners.
