Value Brand Standard Duty Tarp 5 ft 6 in x 9 ft 6 in 20 Mil Brown

Standard-Duty Cotton Canvas Tarp

This brown tarp is made from cotton canvas and rated for standard-duty protection. It measures 5 ft 6 in by 9 ft 6 in finished size with a 20 mil thickness and 10 oz per square yard fabric weight. The material is breathable, mildew resistant and UV resistant. Brass grommets are spaced 24 inches apart with a .5 inch inside diameter.

Water Resistance and Breathability Limits

The tarp is water resistant rather than fully waterproof, so heavy or prolonged rain can penetrate the weave. Breathability reduces condensation underneath but also means the fabric will not hold standing water indefinitely. Double-stitched seams add strength at stress points, yet the standard-duty rating indicates it is not built for sustained high-wind loads or sharp abrasion. Brass grommets resist corrosion but can tear out if tie-downs are over-tensioned.

Check Coverage and Tie-Down Points Before Ordering

Verify that the finished dimensions of 5 ft 6 in by 9 ft 6 in match the area you need to cover, remembering the cut size is larger. Ensure you have anchor points spaced to suit the 24 inch grommet spacing for secure fastening. Confirm that a water-resistant, breathable canvas suits your application better than a fully waterproof or insulated alternative. Note the Proposition 65 warning for chemical exposure.
