8 x 10 ft Heavy-Duty Vinyl Tarp

This waterproof vinyl tarp measures 8 x 10 ft cut size with a finished size of 7 ft 4 in x 9 ft 6 in. It features a 20 mil thickness and 18 oz/sq yd fabric weight for heavy-duty protection. Brass grommets are spaced every 24 in along rope-reinforced, single-stitched hems.

Mildew, Tear and UV Resistance

The material resists mildew, tearing and UV degradation to extend outdoor service life. Waterproof construction blocks moisture completely rather than merely repelling it. These combined resistances suit long-term exposure to sun, rain and damp ground conditions.

Finished Dimensions and Non-Breathable Build

Finished dimensions run roughly 8 in shorter per side than the cut size, so coverage area is smaller than the nominal 8 x 10 ft label. The non-breathable vinyl traps condensation against covered items unless ventilation is provided. California Proposition 65 warnings apply for cancer and reproductive harm.

Questions about this item

How often will the brass grommets spaced every 24 in need inspection or replacement?

Brass grommets resist corrosion but should be checked each season for elongation or cracking; replace any that show wear to keep tie‑downs secure.

What limit appears first when the 20 mil vinyl tarp is left tensioned in sun and wind for weeks?

UV exposure gradually embrittles the vinyl, so the material itself reaches its service limit before the rope‑reinforced seams or grommets fail.

How much heat builds up under the black 18 oz/sq yd vinyl when it covers equipment all day?

The black surface absorbs solar energy, raising temperatures underneath noticeably; provide ventilation gaps if heat‑sensitive items are beneath.
