Terminal Post for Chain Link Fencing

This galvanized steel terminal post is designed for chain link fencing installations. It serves as a corner, end or gate post in residential or light commercial boundary projects. The 6 ft overall height and 16 gauge wall thickness suit standard fence runs. Builders and property owners selecting line posts for a new enclosure will find this item matches typical specifications.

Installation Notes and Common Issues

The post is driven or set in concrete using common post-hole equipment; no specialised tools are required. Its 2 3/8 in outside diameter fits standard chain link fittings and tension bands. Installers should verify local frost-depth requirements before setting the footing. The galvanized finish resists corrosion but can be scratched during handling, exposing bare steel to moisture.

Sustained Outdoor Exposure

Under continuous weather exposure the galvanized coating provides a sacrificial barrier that slows rust formation on the underlying steel. The 16 gauge wall maintains structural rigidity through seasonal temperature cycles and wind loading on the attached fabric. Chemical exposure noted in the Proposition 65 warning indicates the presence of substances regulated in California; users in other jurisdictions should consult local regulations. Long-term performance depends on proper concrete embedment and drainage around the base.
