VANGUARD Alta Sky 69 49L Camera Backpack Dark Gray

SKU CH-462T-DM4ZW

Holds a camera with attached 1200mm lens plus eight extra lenses, 17" laptop and 13" tablet in a 49L dual-compartment design with stabilised cradle and multi-access layout

  • Carries 1200mm lens attached for instant shooting
  • Dual long-lens compartments separate mounted rig from extra gear
  • Stabilized cradle protects mount while balancing heavy glass
  • Top and rear access speeds workflow in the field
  • Central tripod mount plus side carry keeps hands free

Built for extreme telephoto setups

The Vanguard Alta Sky 69 carries a full-frame camera with up to 1200mm (f/8) lens attached, keeping the rig ready to shoot without disassembly. It is aimed at wildlife, birding and sports photographers who need their longest glass secured and accessible in the field. Buyers needing only a compact day bag for a single mirrorless body and prime lens will find this pack oversized.

49-litre capacity with dual-compartment long lens

One dedicated section holds the mounted super-telephoto setup on a padded stabilising cradle that protects the camera mount. The opposite compartment accommodates up to eight additional lenses or a mix of camera and personal gear. The pack runs out of room when users try to combine multiple large telephoto bodies with extensive lighting kits.

17-inch laptop and 13-inch tablet sleeves

Padded internal sleeves secure a 17 laptop and 13 tablet alongside camera equipment for a full creative kit. A central tripod mount with foot pocket and a side carry option keep supports stable on the move. Photographers who rely on rolling cases or require integrated hydration reservoirs will not find those features here.

Questions about this item

Will my full-frame camera with a 1200mm f/8 lens attached fit in the main compartment?

Yes, the dual-compartment system is built for extreme telephoto setups and holds a pro body with a 1200mm lens mounted, secured by an adjustable padded cradle that protects the mount.

How can I check the cradle is supporting the lens correctly once I have packed it?

After placing the mounted lens in the dedicated side, tighten the cradle straps until the barrel sits firmly without wobble; the padded waist belt and sternum strap should then carry the load on your hips, not your shoulders.

Does the box include a 17-inch laptop sleeve and a 13-inch tablet sleeve, or must I buy them separately?

Both sleeves are integrated — a padded compartment fits a 17 laptop and a separate pocket takes a 13 tablet, so no extra purchase is needed for those devices.
