What this lantern is and who it suits

The Vaxcel Pilsen wall lantern measures 6.5 inches and mounts to exterior walls with a brushed charcoal black finish. Its clear glass panels transmit full light output for porches, garages, entryways and similar outdoor locations.

How it behaves from dusk to dawn

A built-in photocell switches the fixture on automatically at dusk and off at dawn, so the lantern runs only when needed. This removes the need for manual timers and prevents the light from staying on through daylight hours.

Build quality and mounting implications

Weather-resistant materials are rated to withstand rain, sleet and snow for long-term durability. The wall-mount design secures directly to vertical surfaces, keeping wiring contained and the glass panels protected from ground-level impact.

Questions about this item

Does the built-in photocell on the Vaxcel T0591 consume any power while it keeps the lantern off during daylight?

The photocell only draws a tiny standby current to sense ambient light; once daylight is detected it keeps the circuit open so the bulb uses no energy until dusk.

What wiring and mounting hardware must already be in place for the Vaxcel Pilsen 6.5-in lantern to install and operate?

You need a standard outdoor junction box with live, neutral and ground conductors, plus screws or bolts suited to the mounting surface.

Will the clear glass panels on the Vaxcel T0591 work with an older incandescent bulb the buyer may already have?

Yes, the clear glass is designed for maximum output with any compatible base-type bulb, including legacy incandescent lamps.
