Velvac 100101 Air Cylinder

The Velvac 100101 is a single-acting air cylinder built for traffic and parking-lot equipment. Its aluminium round body and clevis mounting suit linear-motion tasks where spring return is preferred.

Thermals Noise Power

The cylinder operates up to 185 degrees Fahrenheit at a maximum pressure of 100 psi. With no internal cushion and a non-repairable design, it runs without adjustment until replacement is needed.

Spring Retraction Force

A 386 lb spring provides the return stroke, so the cylinder only needs compressed air to extend. Buyers who need a double-acting unit or adjustable cushioning should select a different model.

Questions about this item

How do I install the clevis-mounted Velvac 100101 air cylinder and what step is often missed?

Bolt the clevis pins through the mounting brackets, then connect the 1/4 in NPT female inlet to the air line; the step often missed is applying thread sealant to the NPT fitting before pressurising.

What maintenance or replacement will the Velvac 100101 need later?

The cylinder is non-repairable, so when the magnetic piston or spring loses its 386 lb retraction force the entire unit must be replaced.

What is the first limit reached under sustained use of the Velvac 100101?

Continuous operation will hit the 100 psi maximum operating pressure or the 185 Degrees F temperature ceiling first, whichever the system reaches sooner.
