System overview

The Velztorm Pilum is a pre-built gaming desktop that pairs an eight-core Ryzen 7 5700X with a GeForce RTX 3050 graphics card. Sixteen gigabytes of DDR4 memory and a one-terabyte PCIe SSD complete the core specification. Windows 10 Home is installed and a 750-watt power supply drives the components.

Upgrade path

This configuration replaces an older system that relies on a four or six-core processor and an entry-level GPU. The jump is worthwhile when the current machine struggles with modern titles at 1080p or when multitasking causes noticeable slowdown. The eight-core CPU and dedicated RTX 3050 deliver a clear step up for gaming and content creation workloads.

Build integration

The desktop arrives fully assembled with an RGB 120-millimetre AIO liquid cooler on the CPU. Connectivity includes HDMI, DisplayPort, Ethernet, USB 3.1 Gen1, five USB 3.0 Type-A ports, four USB 2.0 ports and audio jacks. No monitor is included so a display must be supplied separately. The 750-watt unit leaves headroom for future GPU upgrades.

Questions about this item

What clearance does the 120mm AIO liquid CPU cooler need inside the Pilum chassis?

The 120mm AIO liquid CPU cooler fits the standard 120mm fan mount in the Pilum case. Allow space for the radiator thickness and tubing bend radius so the 120mm unit clears the 16GB DDR4 DIMM and the RTX 3050 8GB GDDR6 card.

Which step is often missed when seating the GeForce RTX 3050 into the PCIe 4.0 slot?

Push the RTX 3050 firmly until the retention latch clicks, then connect the required PCIe power cable from the 750W supply. The WINDFORCE 3X cooler shroud can hide the latch, so verify it is locked before closing the side panel.

When should the 120mm AIO liquid cooler coolant be checked or the radiator cleaned?

Inspect the 120mm AIO radiator fins for dust every 6-12 months and clean with compressed air. The sealed loop does not require coolant replacement, but watch for pump noise or rising Ryzen 7 5700X temperatures that signal degradation.
