Capture 110° ultra-wide scenes with 1:1 macro detail and ±6 mm shift control
The Venus Optics Laowa 15mm f/4 combines a 110 degree ultra-wide angle of view with 1:1 maximum magnification. It is the first lens to merge these capabilities, enabling wide-angle macro photography without extension tubes. This design suits photographers capturing small subjects alongside their environmental context.
The lens operates via manual focus and aperture control, drawing no electrical power and producing no operational noise. A rear-mounted shift mechanism provides +/- 6mm of adjustment for perspective correction. Thermals are passive, relying on the metal barrel to dissipate ambient heat during extended use.
The Nikon F mount fits full-frame sensor cameras, delivering an expansive 110 degree field of view at infinity focus. The shift function frees the photographer from converging verticals in architectural or landscape work. Close focus capability eliminates the need for separate macro accessories in the kit.

Mount the lens on the Nikon F bayonet, then rotate the rear shift mechanism to zero before shooting; forgetting to centre the shift causes unintended perspective distortion.
Clean the front and rear glass with a microfibre cloth and blower, keep the shift rails free of dust, and store the lens capped in a dry cabinet to prevent fungus.
The shallow depth of field at 1:1 forces precise manual focus, and the 110-degree angle makes background clutter the practical constraint during long macro shoots.
