Venus Optics Laowa 15mm f/5 Cookie Pancake Lens for L Mount, Black

Ultra-wide L-mount pancake

The Venus Optics Laowa 15mm f/5 Cookie is a fixed focal-length lens for full-frame L-mount mirrorless cameras. It weighs 140g and measures 4.9 oz, making it small enough to serve as a protective cap when not in use. The 110° angle of view suits landscape, architecture and street photographers who value an ultra-wide perspective in a minimal package.

Fixed aperture behaviour

The lens operates at a constant f/5 aperture with a 5-blade diaphragm that produces distinct sunstar effects from point light sources. Exposure does not change while focusing, and the optical formula uses 13 elements in 9 groups to maintain sharpness across the frame. Because the aperture cannot be stopped down, depth of field and light intake remain identical at every shooting distance.

Pre-purchase checks

Confirm your camera uses the L mount and covers a full-frame sensor; crop-sensor bodies will narrow the 110° field of view. The minimum focus distance is 12 cm, so subjects closer than that cannot be brought to sharp focus. There is no electronic coupling, so aperture metadata will not be recorded and automatic exposure modes may be limited. Buyers who need variable aperture, autofocus or filter threads should look elsewhere.
