Venus Laowa 50mm f/2.8 2X Ultra Macro APO Lens

This lens is built for Micro Four Thirds photographers who need extreme close-up capability beyond standard 1:1 magnification. It suits macro specialists, product shooters and nature enthusiasts wanting to reveal details invisible to the naked eye. The 50mm focal length also serves general photography, making it a flexible addition to an MFT kit.

Apochromatic design with CPU chip and motor

The APO construction minimizes chromatic aberration across the frame for sharp, colour-accurate results in both focused and defocused areas. A built-in CPU and motor enable aperture control from the camera body and trigger automatic focus magnification when the focus ring is turned. EXIF data is recorded accurately. The barrel measures 79mm long, keeping the package compact for field use.

Manual focus optimised for macro precision

No autofocus motor is fitted; focusing is entirely manual with the magnifier assist activating on ring rotation. The f/2.8 maximum aperture provides a bright viewfinder image for composition and focus peaking. Power draw is negligible, limited to the CPU chip communicating with the body. Thermals and noise are not factors in normal operation.
