Vertiv Geist Environmental Sensor

The Vertiv Geist GT3HD accessory monitors temperature at three points alongside humidity and dew-point readings. It connects to compatible Geist or Vertiv monitoring hardware to give data-centre operators real-time visibility of rack-level conditions. The unit is aimed at facilities teams that need granular environmental data without deploying separate probes for each metric.

Plug-and-play sensor installation

The sensor ships with a standard RJ-style connector that mates directly with supported Vertiv Geist monitoring ports, so no soldering or custom cabling is required. Configuration is handled through the host monitor’s web interface, where the three temperature channels appear automatically once the device is detected. A common issue is attempting to plug the sensor into a non-Geist port, which provides no power or data. Another frequent oversight is leaving the sensor coiled inside a hot-aisle containment door, which skews all three temperature readings.
