External battery cabinet

The Vertiv VEBCLI-192VRT1U is a lithium-ion battery enclosure designed to extend runtime for compatible Liebert GXT5 LI UPS systems. It targets IT managers responsible for critical infrastructure who need longer backup without increasing rack footprint.

192 V lithium-ion chemistry

The cabinet operates at 192 V and uses lithium-ion cells rated for up to three times the service life of traditional VRLA batteries. This chemistry also supports up to ten times more discharge cycles and recharges faster while maintaining performance at higher temperatures.

Hot-swappable modules with auto-detection

Batteries can be replaced without interrupting power to connected equipment, and the cabinet auto-detects when attached to a GXT5 LI UPS rated from 5 kVA to 10 kVA. Certified to UL 1778, UL 1973 and UL 1642 for safe deployment in critical environments.

Questions about this item

How much extra runtime does the 192 V lithium-ion cabinet add to a Liebert GXT5 LI UPS?

The internal UPS battery already delivers up to 14 minutes at full load; adding this 192 V external cabinet extends that runtime further during an outage.

What connectivity standard lets the UPS auto-detect and configure the external battery cabinet?

The cabinet uses Vertiv's auto-detection connectivity so the compatible Liebert GXT5 LI UPS automatically recognises and sets up the available runtime.

What rack space does the 1U battery enclosure occupy and how is it mounted?

The unit is a 1U rack/tower form factor designed to fit in a standard 19-inch rack or sit as a tower alongside the UPS.
