Purpose and Audience

This 20 x 40 ft polyethylene tarp provides a 16 mil waterproof barrier for outdoor protection. It suits owners who need to shield trucks, RVs, boats or campsite gear from rain, wind and UV exposure.

Build Integration

Reinforced edges and rust-proof aluminum grommets spaced every 18 inches allow secure tie-down without extra hardware. The 16 x 16 weave density handles tension across the full 609.6 x 1219.2 cm surface while the 44 lb weight keeps handling manageable.

Capacity and Limits

The >12 kPa waterproof rating blocks heavy rain and storm-driven moisture on roofs, loads or ground sheets. It will not suit buyers who need a breathable cover or a lighter sheet for frequent solo deployment.

Questions about this item

How long will the 16-mil polyethylene hold up under constant sun and wind?

The tarp is UV-protected, waterproof, wind-proof and ageing-resistant, built to withstand storms and sandstorms without degrading.

Does the tarp get heavy or hot when left out all day?

At 44 lb it stays light for its size; the polyethylene does not absorb water and the UV coating reflects heat, so it remains manageable in prolonged exposure.

What do I need on hand to tie down the 20 x 40 ft tarp?

Rust-proof aluminium grommets are spaced every 18 inches, so you only need rope, bungee cords or straps to secure each corner and edge.
