Product Identity

The VEVOR 22BLACK is a 22 lbs drop-forged steel anvil with a 55 HRC hardness rating. It features a single round horn, a flat working surface measuring 9.06 by 3.54 inches, and both hardy and pritchel holes sized at 0.59 inches. The unit weighs 10 kg and stands on a stable base sized 13.58 by 4.53 by 3.94 inches.

Suitability

This anvil suits hobbyist blacksmiths, jewellers, and metalworkers who need a portable forging tool for shaping, bending, and punching small stock. The compact footprint fits limited bench space. Buyers requiring a heavier mass for large-diameter bar work or a double-horn profile for complex scroll forming should look at larger floor-standing models instead.

Deciding Specification

The 55 HRC surface hardness determines whether this anvil resists mushrooming under repeated hammer blows on tool steel. At 22 lbs, the mass limits momentum transfer for heavy stock, so the hardness figure is the key indicator of service life for light to medium forging tasks.

Questions about this item

What size hardy hole and pritchel hole does the 22BLACK anvil have for tooling?

Both the hardy hole and pritchel hole measure 0.59 in (15 mm), fitting standard blacksmith tooling of that diameter.

Will the 22 lbs steel anvil stay stable on a typical workbench without bolting?

The solid base and 22 lb mass keep it steady during hammering, and the 13.58 x 4.53 in footprint sits securely on most benches.

How can I verify the anvil surface is properly hardened after unpacking?

The working face is heat-treated to 55 HRC; a file should skate off the polished surface without biting.
