20 Inch Soft-Close Drawer Slides

These 20 inch side-mount drawer slides come in ten pairs for cabinet and kitchen projects. Each pair is rated for 100 lbs of load bearing and uses carbon steel construction with ball-bearing movement.

Installation and common issues

The set includes self-tapping screws ST 3.5 x11 for mounting to the cabinet and drawer sides. Pre-drilling pilot holes prevents the thin rail walls from splitting during screw insertion. Misaligned brackets often cause binding, so verify parallel spacing before final tightening.

Limits of the side-mount standard

Full extension travel requires the drawer box to match the 20 inch slide length exactly; shorter drawers will not open fully. The 1.77 inch rail width reduces internal drawer width by that amount on each side. Soft-close damping adds resistance that can feel stiff on very light drawers under 10 lbs.
