Tow Chain Kit

This kit contains two Grade 80 tow chains, each 5/16 inch thick and six feet long. They are made from manganese steel with a galvanized finish for corrosion resistance. The set includes a D-shackle and is rated for a 5400 lbs working load limit.

Wrecker and Trailer Operators

The chains suit recovery, towing and heavy-duty transport tasks where a rated alloy chain is required. They are not for overhead lifting or rigging applications that demand a different certification. Buyers who need longer reach or a higher working load limit should look at other configurations.

Grade 80 Rating

The G80 classification confirms the chain meets the tensile strength and safety factor needed for 5400 lbs working load. Each chain weighs 26.46 lbs and the total kit weight is 12 kg. Verify the grade matches your regulatory or insurance requirements before use.

Questions about this item

Does the package include both tow chains and the D-shackle, or must the shackle be purchased separately?

Should I choose the 5/16 inch Grade 80 chain rated at 5400 lbs or a lighter option?

The 5/16 inch G80 chain with a 5400 lb working load limit is built for heavy-duty wrecker recovery and trailer towing.

What does the 5400 lb working load limit mean when the chain is on my truck?

It means each chain can safely handle 5400 lbs of straight pull when the load is centred in the hook and the chain is not twisted.
