Questions about this item

What does the 500 lbs rating mean once the carrier is mounted on my vehicle?

The 500 lbs rating is the maximum evenly distributed load the carrier frame can support when secured in a compatible receiver; it does not increase your vehicle's tongue-weight limit.

What receiver size does the carrier use and what does that limit?

The carrier mounts in a standard 2-inch receiver tube; the receiver class and vehicle rating ultimately cap the safe towing and tongue weight.

What are the inner frame dimensions so I can check if my cargo will fit?

The inner frame measures 58.6 x 22.4 x 5.2 in (1488 x 570 x 132 mm), giving the usable cargo area inside the side rails.
