8-inch Bench Grinder for Workshop Sharpening

This VEVOR bench grinder is an 8-inch single-speed machine built for sharpening knives, blades, chisels and axes. A 750W induction motor drives the wheels at 3450 RPM on 120V AC power. The unit weighs 39.2 lbs and measures 18.9 x 10.2 x 13 inches, mounting on a cast-iron base for stability.

Suits DIYers and Mechanics Needing Two Grit Options

The package includes a 36-grit wheel for fast material removal and a 60-grit wheel for finer finishing work. Adjustable transparent eye shields and left and right work rests support a range of hand-held grinding tasks. Buyers who need variable speed control or a larger wheel diameter should look at other models.

Straightforward Bench Mounting

Four mounting screws, locking nuts and eye-shield brackets are provided for securing the grinder to a workbench. The cast-iron base and steel-plate body keep vibration low during operation. The most common issue is forgetting to tighten the locking nuts fully, which can allow the wheel assembly to shift under load.

Questions about this item

What voltage supply must I already have for the 750W induction motor?

The grinder needs a 120V AC 60Hz circuit rated for at least 6.2A.

Can the 8-inch 36-grit and 60-grit wheels stay on if I mount the unit on an older cast-iron bench?

Yes, the wheels fit the 200mm spindles and the cast-iron base bolts down securely.

How do I confirm the motor is running at the rated 3450 RPM after assembly?

With no load the motor spins at 3450 RPM; you will hear a steady high-pitched hum and see the wheels blur.
