Chimney Cap for 6-Inch Flues

The VEVOR chimney cap fits a 6-inch flue with a 5.91-inch panel diameter and an 11.81-inch top plate. Made from 304 stainless steel, it resists rust better than galvanized or 430 steel and withstands harsh weather. The mesh side panel blocks birds, rodents and debris from entering the chimney. Expansion screws are included for a secure mount on masonry or tile.

Check Flue Size and Mounting Surface

Verify the flue inner diameter matches the 5.91-inch panel before ordering. The cap requires a flat, solid crown or chase cover to anchor the supplied expansion screws. Ensure the chimney top is accessible and clear of obstructions that would prevent the 11.81-inch top plate from sitting level. No adhesive or sealant is mentioned in the supplied hardware.

All-Weather Durability and Low Maintenance

The 0.02-inch thick 304 stainless steel top plate and panel shed rain, snow and sun without corrosion. Net weight is 1.54 lb, so the cap adds minimal load to the chimney structure. The mesh design allows free airflow while keeping out animals and debris. Occasional visual inspection keeps the vent clear; no moving parts or powered components require service.

The package includes the side panel, top plate and user manual; the manufacturer highlights mention expansion screws for firm wall grip, so no separate hardware purchase is required.

Should I choose the 6-inch model based on the 5.91-inch panel diameter or the 11.81-inch top plate size?
