Artificial thatch roof roll 1.6 by 19.7 ft

Suits tiki bar huts and tropical party décor

Buyers needing a lightweight, decorative roof mat for patio, pool or beach settings will find this roll easy to install. It is not suited for permanent structural roofing, high-wind zones, or projects requiring natural thatch insulation.

12-needle density and PE construction

The 12-needle stitching binds the synthetic strands to the black PE backing, determining both weather resistance and visual thickness. Verify that this needle count matches the coverage density your project requires.

Questions about this item

What width of framing or roof deck does the 1.6 ft roll cover?

The roll spans 1.6 ft across the roof deck, so framing centres or decking must be at least that wide to support the full width.

How is the thatch roll secured, and what step is often missed?

It is laid over the roof structure and fastened through the black PE base with staples or screws; the step often missed is staggering the fasteners every 12 in along the 19.7 ft length to prevent wind uplift.

When will the PE thatch need replacing, and what indicates it?

The PE material resists water and fire, but after several seasons of UV exposure the yellow needles fade and become brittle — replace the roll once the needles snap easily or the black base shows cracking.
