Precision Gem Faceting Machine

The VEVOR KD-8801 is a bench-top grinding and polishing unit built for lapidary work on gemstones, jade, crystals and similar hard materials. Its adjustable manipulator suits hobbyists and small workshops that need repeatable facet angles without industrial-scale equipment.

Thermals Noise Power

A 180 W copper-wound motor delivers 0-2980 rpm from a 110-120 VAC 60 Hz supply while the low-noise design keeps the workshop environment comfortable during extended sessions. Stainless-steel construction resists rust and helps dissipate heat from continuous operation.

96-Gear Angle Manipulator

The mechanical manipulator provides 96 discrete gear positions for height and angle adjustment across a 0-90° range, letting the operator index each facet precisely on the 6-inch grinding disc. This gear count is the key specification that determines how fine the angular steps can be.

Questions about this item

How do I mount the 96-gear manipulator and set the 0-90° angle without misaligning the index?

Bolt the manipulator to the base, engage the 96-gear handle, then rotate the angle scale to the desired 0-90° position and lock it before starting the 180W motor.

Which parts will wear out first and need replacement during regular faceting work?

The 6 x 0.4 in grinding wheel and the protective cover are consumables; expect to swap the wheel when cutting performance drops.

At what point does the 180W motor hit its thermal limit during a long cutting session?

Continuous operation at high load on the 110-120V 60Hz supply will trigger the motor's internal thermal protection first.
