50 ft 30 A dryer extension cord

This 50 ft NEMA 10-30P to 10-30R cord extends a 30 A dryer outlet or a Level 2 EV charger. It uses 10 AWG pure copper conductors rated for 125/250 V and 7500 W. The STW jacket resists rain, humidity and sunlight for indoor or outdoor use. A non-woven bag and PVC tie are included for storage.

Capacity and headroom

The 10 AWG copper wire delivers the full 30 A rating over the 15.2 m length, supporting dryers and EV chargers set to 30 A or below. At 7500 W the cord reaches its thermal limit, so loads above 30 A will overheat the cable. The three-prong 10-30 layout lacks a dedicated ground, so it cannot serve four-prong 14-30 appliances or modern grounded EV installations.

NEMA 10-30 three-prong compatibility

The male 10-30P plug and female 10-30R connector match the classic three-prong dryer outlets common in pre-1996 buildings. Buyers with four-prong 14-30 outlets or devices requiring a separate ground conductor cannot use this cord. It is strictly a 10-30 to 10-30 extension.

Questions about this item

Will the NEMA 10-30P plug on this 50 ft cord mate with the 3-prong outlet on my pre-1996 dryer?

Yes, the cord uses a classic 3-prong NEMA 10-30P male plug and matching NEMA 10-30R female connector, the standard found in buildings constructed before 1996.

How can I verify the 30 A rating is holding up after I connect my EV charger?

Set the vehicle or charger to draw 30 A or less, then confirm the cord stays cool during a full session; the 10 AWG pure copper conductors and STW jacket are rated for continuous 30 A at 125/250 V.

Does the package include anything besides the 50 ft extension cord itself?

The box contains the cord, a black non-woven fabric storage bag, and a PVC cable tie for securing the coil.
