3 lb Rock Polishing Machine for Hobbyists
This rock tumbler processes up to 3 lb of stones in a single batch using a direct-drive motor that runs at 35 dB. A 19 day timer and four adjustable speeds from 75 to 120 RPM let you match each polishing stage. The kit includes raw stones, ceramic beads and four abrasive grades plus polishing compound.
Check power and workspace before ordering
The unit ships with an adapter and measures 10.35 x 7.09 x 8.39 inches with the drum installed. Without the barrel the height drops to 3.74 inches, so verify shelf clearance. Net weight is 7.78 lbs and the drum capacity is 1.36 kg, so ensure a stable, level surface that can handle the load.
Fits a home workshop or classroom bench
The PC sound-reduction cover and TPU drum work with the belt-free motor to cut vibration and noise during long runs. Overload and power-loss memory resume interrupted cycles automatically. Included strainer, shaker ball, display base and hanging cord support cleaning, storage and display of finished gems.

Questions about this item
What comes in the box and what do I need to buy separately?
The package includes the tumbler base, a 3 lb TPU drum, PC sound-reduction cover, 1/2 lb of assorted raw stones, 400 g ceramic beads, four 60 g abrasive stages (320#, 600#, 800#), polishing compound, strainer, shaker ball, ring display base, adapter, hanging cord, circle ring and manual. No extra consumables are required to start.
Which speed and timer setting should I choose for different tumbling stages?
Four speeds run from 75 to 120 RPM; the 19-day timer can be set for any duration up to that limit. Lower speeds suit coarse grinding while higher speeds work for fine polishing, and the constant-speed design keeps each stage even.
How quiet is 35 dB once the tumbler is running on a bench?
At 35 dB the direct-drive motor with belt-free design, TPU drum and PC cover produces sound comparable to a quiet library, so it can run overnight in a living space without disturbance.
