Vehicle Roof Cargo Basket

The VEVOR roof rack cargo basket adds 46 by 36 inches of open storage above an SUV, truck or car. Its Q195 steel frame is finished with spraying and galvanising for corrosion resistance. The two-section design simplifies handling and mounting on factory or aftermarket crossbars. Universal U-bolts are included for a secure fit across a wide range of vehicles.

200 lb Load Capacity and Dimensions

Rated for 200 lbs or 90.7 kg, the basket handles luggage, camping gear and bulky items within that limit. The steel tubing measures 0.98 by 0.87 inches with a 0.047-inch wall thickness, providing structural rigidity. At 26.2 lb or 11.9 kg the unit adds modest weight to the roof. Exceeding the rated capacity risks deformation or mounting failure.

Two-Section Steel Construction

The frame splits into two sections that bolt together, allowing easier packaging and on-vehicle assembly. Q195 steel with a 1.2 mm wall thickness balances strength and weight for the stated load. No integrated tie-down points or accessory mounts are detailed in the specifications. Buyers needing built-in tie-down anchors or a single-piece frame should verify compatibility before purchase.

Questions about this item

Will the 46"x36" basket sit securely on the crossbars I already have?

Universal U-bolts clamp onto most factory or aftermarket crossbars; the 0.98" x 0.87" steel tubes and 200 lb rating keep the load stable on existing racks.

How do I confirm the basket is assembled correctly before loading gear?

Both sections should bolt together with no gaps, U-bolts must be torqued evenly, and the sprayed-galvanized Q195 frame should sit level on the crossbars.

Does the package include tie-down straps or a cargo net?

The box contains the two-piece basket, universal U-bolts and mounting hardware only; straps, nets or bags are sold separately.
