Gripping Range and Capacity

The VEVOR SC32 log lifting tongs adjust from 28 to 32 inches, handling logs, wire mesh and hay bales with a static capacity of 1543 lbs and a dynamic capacity of 1322 lbs. Built from 45# steel, they weigh 17.64 lbs and mount on trucks, tractors or forklifts via a 360° rotating hook. The two-claw eagle design bites securely to reduce slippage during transport.

Upgrade From Chains or Single Hooks

This tool replaces loose chains, slings or fixed single-hook grabs that shift under load and require manual repositioning. The adjustable jaw and swivel hook let one operator secure and turn irregular timber without leaving the cab, cutting cycle time on repeated skids. The jump is worth it when daily volume makes manual re-rigging the bottleneck.

Sustained Load Behaviour

Under continuous dynamic loads up to 1322 lbs the 45# steel frame resists permanent deformation, and the pivot pins maintain alignment through repeated grab-and-release cycles. The 360° hook rotates freely even when the tongs are fully loaded, preventing torque build-up that would twist lesser mounts. Heat buildup is negligible because there are no hydraulic or powered components to fatigue.

Questions about this item

What hook or pin diameter fits the 360° rotating hook on these tongs?

The tongs have a 360° rotating hook for attachment to chains, slings or loader arms; match the hook throat to your rigging hardware.

How do I set the grip range before the first lift?

Open the jaws until the tips span the log — up to the 32 in maximum — then let the spring-loaded latch engage; the minimum grip is 28 in.

Which parts wear out first and need replacement?

The 45# steel claw tips and the rotating hook bearing see the most abrasion; inspect them after heavy use and replace when edges round off.
