Solar Pool Cover 36 x 18 ft

This rectangular solar blanket measures 36 by 18 feet and is constructed from 16 mil PE material. It is designed for both inground and above ground swimming pools to retain heat and reduce evaporation. The cover arrives new with an instruction manual included.

Sustained Heat Retention

The closed bubble design absorbs solar energy during daylight hours and limits overnight heat loss. Under suitable conditions the water temperature can rise by 8 to 15°C while evaporation is reduced by up to 95%. The 16 mil PE film resists fading and warping during prolonged sun exposure.

Chemical Balance Requirement

The manufacturer recommends use only in water with chlorine levels below 2.5 ppm and pH levels above 7.2. Pools operating outside these parameters may cause premature degradation of the cover material. Buyers who cannot maintain this chemical balance should consider alternative protection.

Questions about this item

Does the 16 mil PE material degrade when the pool runs at 2.5 ppm chlorine and 7.2 pH all day?

The cover is rated for chlorine levels below 2.5 ppm and pH above 7.2, so it will not fade or warp under those conditions.

What extra items do I need to secure the 36 x 18 ft blanket on my pool?

The package includes only the cover and an instruction manual; you must supply a reel, clips or weights yourself.

Will the 16 mil thickness lie flat on my older 18 ft wide above-ground frame without tearing?

The 16 mil PE film has high tensile and tear resistance, so it handles the surface of an 18 ft pool without ripping.
