Complete Kit for Manual Steering
The VEVOR SS13715 Safe-T Quick Connect Rotary Steering System supplies a 13.5 inch steering wheel, rotary helm, 15 foot cable, 3/4 inch tapered shaft, 90 degree bezel kit and all fixing bolts. It is built for owners of yachts, fishing boats and other waterborne vehicles who want a complete manual steering package in one box.
Upgrade from Worn Cable or Helm
This system replaces a tired steering cable, a loose helm or a missing wheel on mechanically steered craft. The jump is worth it when the existing cable binds, the wheel has excessive play or the helm housing shows corrosion that cannot be cleaned away.
Bolt-On Installation With Alignment Care
Mount the helm, route the 4.57 metre cable through the dash cut-out, attach the bezel kit and secure the wheel to the tapered shaft. The flat interface helps alignment, but mis-routing the cable radius or over-tightening the bolts are the common faults that cause stiff or uneven steering.

Questions about this item
What diameter is the tapered steering shaft that must match the helm?
The kit includes a standard 3/4-inch tapered steering shaft that fits the rotary helm supplied in the box.
Which step is most often missed when routing the 15-foot steering cable through the 90-degree bezel?
Installers frequently forget to seat the cable end fully into the bezel's 90-degree bend before tightening the helm, causing excess play at the wheel.
Which parts of the 304 stainless cable and cast-steel helm should be inspected each season?
Examine the cable jacket for cracks, the stainless conduit for kinks, and the helm's rotary gear for corrosion or loose mounting bolts.
