Product identity

VEVOR SS141448100G hardware cloth is a hot-dipped galvanised steel wire mesh roll measuring 48 inches wide by 100 feet long. The 23-gauge wire forms a uniform 0.25-inch square mesh weighing 19.4 kilograms total.

Ideal use cases

Suits gardeners, poultry keepers and small-animal owners needing predator-resistant fencing, cage liners or garden barriers. Not suited for buyers who want heavier-gauge mesh for large livestock containment or finer mesh for insect exclusion.

Build integration

The flexible roll unrolls flat for stapling to timber frames, zip-tying to metal posts or shaping into custom enclosures. Galvanised coating resists rust outdoors, freeing the installer from frequent replacement cycles.

Questions about this item

What tools or fasteners are needed to secure the 48in wide roll of 23 gauge galvanized steel wire mesh?

The roll is supplied as a single piece of hot-dipped galvanized steel wire with 0.25in openings. You will need wire cutters, heavy-duty gloves, and galvanized staples, zip ties or hog rings to attach it to wood or metal posts.

Will the 0.25in mesh size and 23 gauge wire work with existing 1in chicken wire already on the coop?

The 0.25in by 0.25in openings are much smaller than standard 1in chicken wire, so the new cloth will block rodents and small birds that pass through the older mesh. Overlap the edges and bind them with galvanized wire ties to avoid gaps.

How can I verify the 100ft length and 42.8lb weight are correct once the roll is unrolled?

Measure the full length against a 100ft tape and weigh the entire roll on a floor scale; it should read close to 42.8lbs. The hot-dipped galvanized coating should appear uniformly silver without bare spots across the 48in width.
