48-inch Tow-Behind Dethatcher

This 48-inch tow-behind dethatcher mounts to an ATV or mower using a 1.18-inch pin spacing. It carries 24 spring steel tines each measuring 7.7 inches long. The unit weighs 38.6 pounds and measures 48 by 44.9 by 34.1 inches overall.

Pin Spacing and Tine Count Limits

The hitch requires exactly 1.18-inch pin spacing on the towing vehicle, so compatibility must be verified before purchase. Only 24 tines are provided across the 48-inch working width, which sets a fixed spacing that cannot be adjusted for different debris sizes.

Q235 Steel Frame and Lift Handle

The frame uses Q235 steel with heat-treated tines and welded joints to resist bending during ground engagement. A 40.6-inch lift handle lets the operator raise or lower the tine assembly from the seat, reducing wear when crossing drives or paths. Individual tines can be swapped out with basic hand tools when they dull or break.

Questions about this item

How do I choose between the 48-inch model and a narrower dethatcher?

The 48-inch working width with 24 spring steel tines covers more ground per pass, making it efficient for larger lawns or fields when towed behind an ATV or mower.

What does the 48-inch working width mean when I am actually towing this unit?

It means the 24 tines span 1219 mm across the grass, so each pass dethatches a wide swath and reduces the number of runs needed to finish the job.

Will the 1.18-inch pin spacing fit my tractor's hitch?

The hitch uses a 1.18-inch pin spacing at the connecting interface, designed to attach directly to compatible ATVs or mowers without an adapter.
