Trailer Brake Kit for 3500 lb Axles

This kit supplies two self-adjusting electric brake assemblies and two matching drums for trailers rated at 3500 lbs. It is built for owners replacing worn backing plates and drums on a single axle with a 4.5 inch bolt circle.

Check Bolt Pattern and Voltage Before Ordering

Verify that the existing hub uses a 5 on 4.5 inch bolt circle and a 4-hole mounting flange. Confirm the trailer wiring delivers 12 V DC at 2.5 to 3.6 A per magnet so the brakes can develop the rated 450 N magnetic force.

Grey Cast Iron Drums with Self-Adjusting Pads

Grey cast iron drums and SPHC plus Q235 backing plates resist wear for up to 50000 km. The self-adjusting mechanism keeps pad clearance consistent, reducing manual adjustments while the 0.48 friction coefficient provides steady stopping power.

Questions about this item

What is included in the kit and what must be purchased separately?

The kit contains two electric brakes, two brake drums and two dust caps. Mounting bolts, brake controllers and wiring harnesses are not included and must be sourced separately.

How do I choose between the available configurations for this 3500 lbs axle kit?

This product is sold as a single set with a 4-hole flange, 10" x 2-1/4" brakes and a 5 on 4.5" bolt circle; no alternative capacities or mounting patterns are offered.

What does the 450 N magnetic force mean when the brakes are installed on my trailer?

At 12 V the magnets draw 2.5–3.6 A and produce 450 N of holding force, giving a friction coefficient of 0.48 for consistent stopping power on a 3500 lbs axle.
