Heavy Duty Weed Barrier Fabric

The VEVOR weed barrier fabric is a heavy duty woven polypropylene mat supplied as a single roll measuring 1.2 metres wide by 76.2 metres long. It is designed for gardeners and landscapers who need a durable ground cover to suppress weed growth while allowing water and nutrients to reach the soil.

Suited For Large Area Coverage

This roll suits projects that require continuous coverage over long beds, pathways or fields without frequent seams. It is less suited for small planters or tight corners where a narrower or shorter roll would reduce waste and handling effort.

170 g/m² Weight With 950N Widthwise Tensile Strength

The fabric weighs 170 grams per square metre and delivers a widthwise tensile strength of 950N, indicating the force it resists across the roll before tearing. This single specification determines whether the mat will withstand the expected foot traffic, mulch load or seasonal stress on your site.

Questions about this item

How do I unroll and secure the 1.2 m wide fabric without it shifting during installation?

Unroll the 76.2 m length over prepared soil, overlap seams by at least 15 cm, and anchor every 1 m with landscape staples; the 15.7 kg roll weight helps it lay flat but wind can lift edges before stapling.

When will the polypropylene material start to degrade and need replacement?

The woven PP fabric resists UV and rot; under normal garden exposure it typically lasts several seasons before tensile strength drops below the rated 850 N lengthwise and 950 N widthwise.

At what point does water stop draining through the mat during a heavy downpour?

The 170 g/m² weight allows steady percolation; ponding only appears when rainfall intensity exceeds the fabric’s permeability rate or if sediment clogs the weave over time.
