4-Inch Wide Flat-Hook Straps

These 4-inch wide polyester straps come in a 10-pack for flatbed cargo control. Each unit is 30 feet long with a flat hook made of carbon structural steel measuring 3.8 by 3.7 inches. They are suited for trailer, farm and rescue tie-down tasks where a red high-visibility strap is preferred.

Replacing Worn or Narrower Tie-Downs

A set like this replaces frayed, stretched or narrower webbing that no longer meets a 6000-pound working load limit. The jump is worth it when the current straps show abrasion cuts, hook deformation or when the load regularly approaches the old strap’s rated capacity.

Build Integration and Clearance Gains

Each strap weighs about 4.8 pounds so the full pack adds roughly 47.6 pounds to the vehicle payload. The flat hook profile sits flush against rub rails and stake pockets, freeing clearance that bulky snap hooks would consume. No ratchet mechanism is included, so a compatible winch drum must already be mounted on the trailer or truck bed.

Questions about this item

What width winch track or slot is needed for the 4 inch strap?

The strap is 10.2 cm wide, so the winch drum or track must accept at least a 4 inch webbing.

How do I attach the flat hook to the trailer anchor point, and what mistake should I avoid?

Slide the 96 mm by 94 mm carbon steel hook fully into the stake pocket or rail slot until the hook base sits flat; the common error is leaving the hook tip partially engaged.

When should I replace a strap from the 10 pack?

Replace any strap that shows cuts, abrasion, UV fading, melted fibres or deformed stitching, or after a load event that approached the 6000 lbs working limit.
